What they said about Mirzam :
Get your breakfast fix at this contemporary Saudi eatery located a short distance from Riyadh’s King Abdullah Financial District. Served from early morning to mid-afternoon, the food here proudly represents the country’s regions, particularly in its ingredients and spices. Start with the Mirzam platter, a selection of appetisers including hummus, foul and salads all served with warm flatbreads fresh from the oven. Their Egg Maghash and Kibda Hijazi – aka lamb’s liver – are must haves but do leave room for dessert – the maasoub is the chef’s speciality – and come with friends as sharing is encouraged.
Experience flame-cooked locally inspired cuisine surrounded by the spectacular landscape of the Oasis.
Location
Innovative Saudi chefs combine their connection to AlUla's cultural heritage with technical training honed at the internationally-acclaimed school of culinary arts, Ferrandi Paris. This, together with an incredible outdoor dining experience located at the heart the Oasis, makes a meal here unmissable. Taking a fresh approach to the 'farm to fork' concept, the menu features dishes like melt-in-your-mouth eggplant rolls and uniquely refreshing avo brocc dip. Carnivores won't want to miss out on the gargantuan tomahawk steak.

Enjoy dramatic dining experiences next to culture and canyons.
There are plenty of reasons to visit AlUla in Saudi Arabia, from its UNESCO World Heritage Sites to its exciting line-up of concerts. Now, we’ve got one (well, four) more, as new restaurants in AlUla have been announced. So, whether you’re after local talent or celebrity chefs, there is something to meet your foodie needs.
Mamzel
We never imagined that you could get a touch of Marbella in Saudi Arabia. The Spanish restaurant, Mamzel, can be found hidden in the canyons of AlUla. Located near Shaden Resort, Mamzel has created a memorable dining experience, which combines dinner with a show. In true AlUla-style, guests will be able to dine under the stars with the soaring landscape for company. The dishes include Black Angus barbecued steak, sea bass curry, king prawns and scallops and lamb shoulder.
The Heart of Oasis Restaurant
How often will you get to eat among two million date palms? Well, at The Heart of Oasis Restaurant you can. Set to open from January 30, the restaurant prides itself on its farm to fork concept, which is an ode to the slow food movement. On the menu, you’ll find dishes that have been created using local ingredients, from freshly farmed produce to the fruits of AlUla Oasis. In the kitchen, established Saudi chefs will lead emerging talent, and dishes will be cooked in an old-school way.
Tawlet Fayza
If you’ve dreamt of eating at a Saudi grandmother’s home, but never knew how to get yourself an invite, Tawlet Fayza is the next best thing. The new restaurant on the block opens in February, and is inspired by the founder’s grandmother, who is originally from the area. Don’t be shy and grab a seat at the communal table. The venue is located in the oasis, and offers a farm-to-table concept with an evolving menu.

Check out one of the first yakiniku concepts in the capital.
Unleash your inner carnivore at the newly opened Kintan. The Japanese BBQ restaurant has bought the yakiniku concept to Riyadh and lets you cook your steak to suit your needs. Located in Al Wadi, this marks the brand’s first expansion into the Middle East.
The name Kintan means golden tongue in Japanese, and the team are on a mission for diners to enjoy the best quality ingredients. The tables include a smokeless BBQ roaster, which has been imported from Japan. Translated: this means the smell of smoke won’t be in your clothes or hair.
Kintan’s menu spans fish, meats and vegetables, which are suitable to be grilled. The fish includes Miso Butter Salmon, Prawns and Scallops. The meats include Chicken Sweet Soy, Filet Mignon and Premium Rib Eye Steak. The vegetables include Cabbage, Mushroom and Sweetcorn. Plus, there are plenty of classic Japanese dishes including Edamame, Crispy Seaweed, Spring Rolls, and Vegetable Gyoza.
The décor is modern and minimalist, from exposed bricks to wooden walls. The venue boasts floor-to-ceiling windows, which let in lots of light. Plus, it is decorated with Japanese calligraphy art, gorgeous greenery and the odd waving cat.
Kintan is open daily from 6pm to 12.30am.

You’re doing the cooking tonight at Kintan Riyadh.
The new restaurant is one of the first yakiniku – or Japanese barbecue spots in Riyadh, as well as Saudi. The name translates to ‘grilled meats’ and it’s where bite-sized pieces of meat (and veggies) are cooked by diners over a smokeless grill at your table.
The interactive concept is meant to bring people together. Kintan draws inspiration from the Japanese philosophy that states those who share rice from the same pot will have a lifelong friendship. Kintan is meant to be the meatier equivalent.
Established in 2013, Kintan has branches in Tokyo and London’s Oxford Circus. We can experience it for the first time in Saudi in the capital.
Kintan Riyadh is located in the new Box@ complex in Al Wadi, and it is currently open for dinner from 6pm to midnight Saturday to Wednesday and 6pm to 12.30am from Thursday to Sunday.
Reservations can be made via widget.servmeco.com.
Forget about American barbecue for a second. Kintan is focused on premium cuts including wagyu as well as signature short rib. You can also take your pick from chicken, prawns and a choice of marinade on all meats.
The eatery also has Japanese classic dishes from edamame to a signature crab salad and sushi rolls (the California is a popular pick.)
For dessert, bite into ooey-gooey chocolate s’mores cooked over the grill or a matcha tiramisu.
